I've been watching Netflix a lot recently, whether it's films or TV shows. Since watching it so much, I've decided that I want to share my favourite movies and shows from the streaming service. They are in no particular order, they're all just great.
Pretty Little Liars
I have been watching Pretty Little Liars for years now and I've rewatched it so many times (and I'm currently doing a rewatch). I'm sure most of you reading this blog will know what Pretty Little Liars is and what it's about. It's about 5 friends and on of them goes missing and is killed. The remaining 4 girls reunite and become friends again and begin getting texts and notes from 'A' and the girls try to figure out who 'A' is. The story develops over 7 series and the story changes a lot and a lot of the things in the show are relevant later on and are part of the story. This show always has me gripped and I've loved watching it. The only thing that sucks about it was the ending. It was such a let down and I'm still salty about it but let's just move on because I'm still obsessed with this show and they have all of the series' on Netflix so it's great for a binge.
Queer Eye
This show makes me so happy!! Queer Eye is a remake of an old show with new guys, and what they do is find males (and one female in the second season) and make over their lives. So Tan (polka dot shirt) specialises in fashion and advises the person on what fashion looks good on them and helps them to improve their style and to dress to suit them. Bobby (grey blazer) specialises in interior design and he makes over the person's space and he has a great eye for design. Johnathan (blue denim jacket and long hair) is the groomer and he takes care of the person's hair, facial hair and skin care. Antoni (brown biker jacket) does food and shows the person a good recipe that's easy and quick to make (depending on the event at the end of the week). And last but not least, Karamo (blue blazer) is the Culture Expert and he talks to the guys and does various things with them. This show is such a feel good show and it includes five homosexual guys trying to make other people feel their best and it makes me so happy. You will absolutely love this show and I don't trust anyone who says they don't like this show.
The Kissing Booth
This film is so cute! This film inspired me to write this post because I've literally just finished watching it and I am in love with this film. It's a really cute rom-com movie that is just great. I would recommend this highly because it's an easy watch film which makes me really happy. It's very soppy and cute but sometimes people need a good film like that and I love this.
The Duff
This is such a great 'teen' movie. This is The Duff (which stands for Designated Ugly Fat Friend) and it's where the main character gets the help of a popular guy/jock guy's help for a makeover so she's not the Duff anymore. It's a funny film and again, it's an easy watching film and great to watch with friends.
To All The Boy's I've Loved Before
To All the Boy's I've Loved Before is such a great film. I love the story line of this and the story development is great. The main character is great and it's hard not to love her. It's basically about a girl who wrote letters to her crushes but never sends them until they get sent out to the boys. I don't want to say anymore than that because I don't want to spoil it but you need to watch this!
The Great British Bake-Off
I'm so happy Netflix put this blessing on there because this is the ultimate feel good show. It's a baking competition and it's just a cosy programme that makes a lot of people happy. If you haven't seen bake-off, what are you doing? You need to watch this and be happy, especially with snacks and baked goods because this show will make you hungry!
Step Sisters
I just stumbled across this when browsing and I'm glad I did. This film is about a college student who's trying to get into Harvard Law School who teaches a sorority group how to step (it seems to be a type of dancing) and her current step group doesn't know that she's teaching the sorority girls. It's a good film to watch with friends on a chilled out night and I thoroughly enjoy this film.
Riverdale
I find Riverdale to be similar to Pretty Little Liars at the beginning but I'm now hooked on this show. If you do enjoy PLL, then you'll love this as well. It's another teen mystery kind of show and I really like it. I was hesitant at first but I love it. It starts with a student in the town going missing/being killed, and they're trying to figure out what's going on. It's similar to PLL in terms of the mystery behind the murder, the story developing into something else and the 'Black Hood' character is equivalent to 'A' in PLL. But yeah, this show is great as a stand alone and I can't wait for the next season to come out.
Gaga: Five Foot Two
Now, I'm a huge Lady Gaga fan so I knew I was going to love this but I really do love this. It's a documentary from making process of the album 'Joanne' right up the the Superbowl Performance and it show's Gaga at her most vulnerable and it shows a completely different side to her and that's why I love this. It shows a side that people don't really see and I urge everyone to watch it. It gives me so much more respect for her (if that was even possible).
Stranger Things
I put off watching this for a long time because I thought it would be scary but I'm so glad I finally started watching it because I am hooked. It's set in the 1980's and its about a group of friends and one of their friends goes missing to the 'upside down' and they have to try and get him out. Then they meet a girl called 'Eleven' with supernatural powers. If you don't like paranormal things , you won't like this but it's such a well done show and the actors are amazing considering they are so young.
Hurricane Bianca and Hurricane Bianca- From Russia with Hate
If you know me, you'll know I'm a massive fan of Bianca Del Rio from RuPaul's Drag Race (which I would put in this list but they only have a few series now because they deleted the earlier seasons which sucks) and these films are great. They are so funny and they have the classic Bianca comedy and they also feature some Drag Race alumni which I appreciate. If you want a good comedy film, this is great to watch and enjoy.
Skins
Skins is a TV show that was on TV years and years ago but they put all of the episodes onto Netflix and I became obsessed with the show. It has 6 main seasons (then a seventh as a side story of other characters when they got older) and it's based in a school or college of the characters and it just have different story lines running throughout for each character and they're all dealing with something in their lives, whether that's relationship drama, friend drama or anything else, it's very interesting and something that most teenagers can relate to. It's a fantastic show, which covers a range of topics, that I would recommend anyone to binge on.
---
I'm going to leave the list hear. Of course there are so many other films and TV shows on there that I have watched but these are all films that people have probably already watched and love so I don't want to get into them.
I really hope you enjoyed this list and let me know what you top Netflix picks are because I'm always after something new to watch.
Thanks for reading and I'll see you next time, bye! xx
